One thing that becomes clear as one explores the potential filters and their relationship to the learner’s resources is the manner in which many of the filters can influence resources from multiple categories. As is stressed in descriptions of the EoR approach the categorization is not hard and fast and does not necessitate firm boundaries between resources and/or from different categories. The categories are intended as a useful organizational tool and a mechanism to aid design. One might also therefore represent the French Language TV resources and their filters like this:

 

 

 

 

In a similar manner one could also consider thinking about the resources in a similar manner. Switching between categorization and this looser representation can help in the identification of further relevant resources, in identifying relationships and in identifying filters:
