1.6 Identify MAPs

 

In this stage of Phase 1 of the EoR Model and Design Framework you will turn your attention from the learner to the MAP. The aim of this step is to ascertain what kinds of support are available in the ZAA (Zone of Available Assistance) identified in previous steps. These forms of support may be human or technological. They may be implicit or explicit. They may be formal/informal, frequent/infrequent, high level/low level, etc.  Identification of available forms of support (MAPs) and reflection on the qualities and features of these resources will also bring into play further consideration of filters and influences. This step not only builds on preceding steps in further refining and defining resources and their relation to the learner and her context, but also anticipates more specific design activities in Phase 3 of the EoR Design Framework.
